Gruesome Murder of Bijoy Shil at Shibpur  

 Continued -- Investigative report from HRCBM

We also went to the residence of Advocate Milan Kanti Majumder, President, Hindu Boudha Christian Unity Council of Brahmanbaria district and came to know that the family members of deceased Bijoy Chandra Shil were staying in B.Baria town for fear of life. We went to the residence of Pradwip Chandra Shil @ Sadhu Shil - elder brother of deceased Bijoy Shil at about 8 p.m. and widow Shikha Rani and her four minor sons were found there. Deceased Bijoy along with his other 3 brothers were the joint family. 1.Pradwip Chandra Shil (Sadhu Shil) (52) is the eldest brother. 2. Sandwip Kumar Shil aka Sandha (45) is the second brother. 3. Bojoy Chandra Shil (40) was the third brother (now dead) 4. Kamal Chandra Shil (35) stays in Soudi Arabia fourth brother. 5. Shymal Chandra Shil (32) now in Soudi Arabia, fifth brother. We asked them to accompany to Shibpur and Nabinagar police station to ascertain the situation prevailing at the place of occurrence. The widow along with her two minor sons and Kamal Chandra Shil along with his wife agreed to go to their native home direct to Shibpur by boat.  We asked the following witnesses present in the residence of Sadhu Shil of the case and they all admitted the fact and are not in a position to open their mouth due to further repression: We gave them encouragement, took responsibility to talk to the police, other law enforcing agencies and witnesses at the place of occurrence.

Visit to Nabinagar police station

On 10th of April, 2003 at about 8 a.m. we started for Nabinagar police station by engine boat from Brahmanbaria district and reached 1 o'clock at noon at Nabinagar P.S. and found one Sub Inspector of Police Md.Sahajahan who is also working as In charge of Nabinagar police station because the Officer-In-Charge was on leave. I requested Md. Sahajahan to supply me the copy of case records relating to offence committed by the accused in the previous case number 13 dated 25.06.2001 filed by Sadhu Shil, elder brother of Bijoy under section 10(1) 30 of "Jana Nirapatta (Bishesh Bidhan) Ain,2000.  We have also been given to understand that 7 accused namely : 1) Md.Zakir Hossain (30) son of Ful Meah, 2) Rafique Meah son of Malek Meah 3) Shamsu Meah (35) son of late Nowab Meah, 4) Amjad (29) son of Abu Bakar, 5) Aksir @ Askir (30) son of Abu Bakar, 6) Taher Meah (29) son of Manu Meah, 7) Shafique Meah (30) son of late Malek Meah 8) Mansur Ali son of Sabje Ali, (reportedly a renowned Awami League leader) all of Shibpur Union  P.S. Nabinagar, B.Baria entered into the house of Bijoy Shil with ill motive to kill the inmates of the house and to rape his wife on the night of 24 June, 2001. The terrorists looted 5 foreign Kambals, 5 Arabian chaddar , 5 shals, One tape recorder amounting to Taka 10,000, cash taka 80,000, 15 tolas of goden ornaments ,2 SEKO watches, one golden chain. Due to scuffle Bijoy Chandra Shil and his wife Shika Shil sustained serious injuries, they have been taken to Nabinagar Hospital and condition of Shika Rani was critical and referred to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital for better treatment, which proved on the basis of medical report of the Doctor. The above terrorists were arrested by police and remanded to jail custody previously. more.....

Attacks on minorities at Mirzapur: three including a pregnant women wounded

 It is that I know what the pain could be! It is passionate pain! Hundreds of pregnant minority women feel that despair that broke their hearts.
Justice never been serve to them and perhaps never will be.
She lost the sign of her love, the child, the fetus of her own blood and flesh. The picture shows broken heart Sabita Rani Sarkar is under treatment at the local hospital. Sabita is speechless, wounds of her body though yet to cure but the scratch on the heart will never be..!! .....more.....   

Gruesome attacks on minority men and women at Gazipur

On 28th of March,2003 at about 10-30 a.m. I, Advocate Rabindra Ghosh and Prof. Ashoke Taru of HRCBM-Dhaka rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital to see Deepak Mallick, a wounded victim being treated after an outrageous attack by the terrorists on 24th March, 2003 at his village home "Degoliar Teck" on the basis of horrific news published in different dailies in Bangladesh. On reaching there, we came to know he was released the day before yesterday 27th March, 2003 and henceforth, we started for the place of occurrence at about 11.00 AM.. more...
